A bedtime ritual in your own voice
Fall asleep to your own words
Write an affirmation, record it in your own voice, and let NightMantra play it softly on a loop while you drift off.

How it works
-
Write
One sentence you want to believe, like “I am calm, safe and at peace.”
-
Record
Read it slowly, in your own voice. It takes about ten seconds.
-
Sleep
Press Sleep and lock your phone. NightMantra loops it gently, with soft fades and pauses.
Why your own voice?
Hearing your own words, in your own voice, is personal in a way a stranger’s recording never is. It turns a nice sentence into a ritual you come back to every night.
Features
Starts after you fall asleep
Set a delay, so it begins once you’ve drifted off.
Stops when you want
A stop timer that fades out gently instead of cutting off.
Gentle by design
Soft fades, pauses between repeats, and your own volume level.

What does the research say?
Honestly: learning new things while you’re fully asleep isn’t proven. But sleep and memory are closely linked, and that’s where it gets interesting.
Read what studies found
Sounds can reactivate memories
In “targeted memory reactivation” studies, a cue played during sleep that was linked to something learned earlier can strengthen that memory. It works on what you practised while awake, not on new information.
Sleep can shift behaviour
In a 2014 study, smokers who smelled cigarette smoke paired with an unpleasant odour during sleep smoked about a third less the following week. A small study, and with smells rather than words.
Suggestions while drowsy
A much-quoted 1942 summer-camp study reported fewer nail-biters after a phrase was played every night. A 1956 follow-up that used brain monitoring found the effect only while people were awake or drowsy, not in deep sleep.
Our take
NightMantra is a bedtime ritual: you set an intention in your own voice as you fall asleep. We don’t claim it reprograms your mind.

Questions
Will it wake me up?
It’s designed not to: soft fades, pauses between repeats, a volume control and a stop timer. Start quietly and adjust. If it disturbs your sleep, lower the volume or shorten the play time.
Do I need headphones?
No. Your phone’s speaker on the nightstand works fine. Sleep headphones or a pillow speaker work too.
Does it keep playing with the screen locked?
Yes. Start sleep mode, then lock your phone. Leave NightMantra open in your browser, and if playback stops, turn off strong battery-saving modes.
Do I need an account?
Not for the free version. You only get an account when you subscribe, and you log in with a link we email you. No password.
Where are my recordings stored?
Free: only on your device. Premium: also in an encrypted backup on our server in the Netherlands, so they sync to your other devices. You can download or delete your data at any time.
How do I cancel?
In the app, under Account & settings → Manage subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
